The Second Annual

Paul Simon Song Tournament

WINNER!

Welcome to the second annual Lasers In The Jungle Paul Simon Song Tournament! Last year, Lasers visitors selected The Boxer as the number one Paul Simon song of all time. To learn more about that, head on over
this way. The Y2K edition of the tournament is a little different though. Last year, we began with sixty-four seeded songs competing in four regions until The Boxer was voted best song. This year, we'll be sticking to a field of sixty-four, but we'll be selecting the single greatest Paul Simon lyric of all time!

How does it work?  Lasers In The Jungle visitors have submitted lyric choices to me via email, and I've randomly seeded them in groups of sixteen, split into matches of two.

Each week, you will get the chance to vote on each one-on-one match-up. For instance, suppose two of the lyrics are "sometimes even music cannot substitute for tears" and "losing love is like a window in your heart," you'll get to vote for one of them. The one with the most votes moves on to the next round - simple as that!

We'll be narrowing down the field of sixty-four to thirty-two, followed by the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight, the Final Four, the semi-finals and finally the winner!

So how do you get to win? Easy! Email me with your choice for the winner - the lyric you think will take the prize home. One lucky guesser will be the recipient of an amazing award from Lasers In The Jungle!

Check back every Thursday to see the results of that week's match-up. Note: All votes must be in by Thursday night at midnight, EST!
